There is an old English proverb.
“Necessity is the mother of invention.”
Meaning that difficult or impossible scenarios prompt inventions aimed at reducing the difficulty. Why the brief factoid you ask? Because simply put, a Greenskeeper is a bare necessity for any cannabis user. Listen, I didn’t start smoking cannabis until I was 33 yrs. old. I mean, I tried it once in college and had a panic attack, which is a story for another posting… But since then I never touched it, until it was actually recommended to me as an alternative way to try and relax as opposed to popping stress pills. So there I was, standing in my garage with a bag full of wonderful sticky green, and I thought to myself… I really feel like the guy from the 40 yr old Virgin Movie… I mean, I was a total noob. Didn’t know how to hold a pipe the right way, wasn’t sure if I was packing the bowl right, and HOLY F@CK THIS S#!T REEKS!!!! Then paranoia kicks in and I swear the entire surrounding 2 block radius could smell it too! The Gig was up!!!
After a few months of awkwardness when heading into the garage I became a natural, but I started to notice a trend. All my bud was drying out. Fast. And this medicine isn’t cheap!!! What was I doing wrong? So I research storage for cannabis. Guess what… Nothing. Don’t get me wrong, there were plenty of blogs and articles that Google pointed me to which all gave great guidelines for HOW to store it, but nothing made for ACTUALLY storing it. So I did what any respectable geeky bakehead would do and I turned to reddit to guide my fate. After browsing r/trees and reading what the other Ents had to say and browsing various forums, I found myself inside my local linens store buying plastic food storage containers because this is what all the “Connoisseurs” we using. After adding a humidity pack I noticed my bud was finally starting to last a little longer. But damn, this storage method… Absolutely horrible… After a few months I couldn’t take it anymore, so I got together with Jack and Colin and we decided to use our collective skillsets to tackle this problem for pot heads everywhere.
Our solution to the storage woes of the cannabis community is Greenskeeper. It’s a storage system for the cannabis users of today, and hopefully the future. With dispensaries and recreational stores becoming more and more like your local delicatessen, consumers now use a variety of strains at any given time. We brought that thought process into account when designing Greenskeeper. All the basics are there. It’s airtight, you have humidity control, and the UV protection lets you store it anywhere you want. Being able to configure the inner containers with either a 5 bottle or 3 bottle set offers up maximum flexibility depending on what kind of consumer you are. Even if you like one particular strain, you can easily ditch the inner bottles and use it for storage of large amounts of a single strain. Heck you can even get crazy and mix all the strains together in the main container. You know, if you’re into that sort of thing… But for all the OCD smokers out there, the labeling system works out great so you never mix up your strains. And when it gets a little too dirty, just throw it in the top shelf of your dishwasher...
Keeping my cannabis fresh is an absolute necessity for me. I know, it’s horrible, I’ve become a cannabis snob, but I know there are a lot of people out there who are just as passionate about their sticky green bud as I am. All that being said, Greenskeeper, ultimately solved a huge problem in my life. Hopefully it can help out a few others as well…
